Colby thoughtlessly said to Dre: "Wow! 9/11 was a *LONG* time ago!" I thought it was an interesting thing for Colby to say. It was (only) 6 and a half years ago that it happened. For most adults, 9/11 seems like yesterday, but for teens, probably some young adults, and CERTAINLY children, it probably DOES seem like a lifetime ago. Children might even consider it to be in "the olden days". I had no clue about what "the Cuban Missile Crisis" was (I was 7 at the time) while it was happening and weren't really sure about what it even WAS until many years later, as part of history lessons.
Something just occurred to me as I watched Adam trying to cope with his haunting -- I've been getting what I call "cold-flashes" for a couple of months now. Out of nowhere I'll suddenly be REALLY cold, goosebumps and all, even though it will be 74 degrees in the room. WTF? Maybe *I'm* being haunted just like Adam! I haven't been slapped by an invisible person yet, but I DID get a nasty (and very PAINFUL) partial-thickness (aka second degree) burn on my thigh on 4/12 when I took 1/3 cup water (that SHOULD have been merely tap-water-hot after all of 33 seconds of heating) out of the microwave and it EXPLODED out of the cup. I hope I haven't pissed off anyone from the Great Beyond! Maybe I should start sucking up to whatever ghost it is and see if they'll pass on the winning numbers to an upcoming lottery :-)
