I KNEW they were going to do this -- have a hearing with barely ANY
notice or preparation for Lily. Why is ERIN advising them on what
will happen in court? Why don't they have a LAWYER advising them.
Why didn't they have more then a day to prepare for something like
this? Okay, so they are meeting Livia down at the courthouse, but
that doesn't explain why Livia doesn't finally do this until just
minutes before the hearing.
What the FUCK is going on with these stupid camerapeople/editors?
Did they all get dropped on their heads during an attitude
adjustment seminar at the studio? Jack is shown frantically
scribbling and balling up papers. When I say frantically, think
Charlie Chaplin -- they SPED UP the "film"! It's apparently not
enough to have "normal" movement so screwed up that it looks like
there are ghost shadows and misalignments, nor is it enough to make
us seasick with the drunken 3-yr-olds manning handheld cameras --
no, now they have to speed it up for no apparent reason. Is this
one of those "what's old is new again" things? The technology for
vivid and clear videotape has been around for quite some time, and
vivid and clear film as been around for longer than that. Certainly
they've had decades to perfect the art of steady cameras, even when
they are handheld, and the quick movements of silent films has been
LONG gone, so why the HELL are they deliberately bringing back all
of these cinematographic FLAWS. Nostalgia? Yeah, it makes me
NOSTALGIC all right -- nostalgic for what they were showing a MONTH
ago! The next thing we know, they'll have a piano player
silhouetted in the bottom corner of the screen as he pounds out
dramatic or light-hearted music cues.
I really like Babe's sundress.
Did Jack ALREADY forget that Lily RAN AWAY from him, resulting in
the fiasco in New York? How is he going to stop her from doing it
again? What does he plan to do for the rest of her life, chain her
to the radiator?
Isn't testimony of a PSYCHIATRIST (or other "official" shrink)
required for a competency hearing? I'm sure Julia's input as the
Life Skills Counselor (for which she has had NO training) is
worthwhile, but she's hardly qualified as an expert on the matter.
I would think shrinks would be required on BOTH sides in order to
fairly present the case. Shouldn't there be some kind of social
worker assigned to the case to evaluate Lily's home life? And why
isn't ERICA there in a show of family concern, if not support? How
about Reggie?
Michael Delany is Lily's biological uncle -- has he EVER been in her
life in any capacity? Last we heard he was off in Paris with his
boyfriend.
