(Tuesday)

Edmund almost shoots Derek when Derek sneaks into the living room from somewhere ELSE in the house. Yeah, like Derek would really DO that, all things considered. Then again, Derek's been known to be more than a little dense at times (in fact, we used to call him Biscuithead). He makes his identity known to Edmund, but doesn't explain how he got in there in the first place, and Edmund doesn't even ask. Did Edmund deliberately leave a door unlocked for Flanders to walk into a trap? If so, why wasn't Edmund covering the unlocked door instead of the living room. For that matter, why isn't he ensconced in Maddie's room since that's the most obvious place for the "bad man" to go?

Why are Maria and Aidan paying no attention to Maddie while outside on a yacht, at night, in the middle of the Pine Valley Ocean? It's dark out -- shouldn't Maddie be in bed by now? Actually, I was glad to see Maria questioning her parenting abilities a little while later and noting that she SHOULD be paying more attention to Maddie's well-being than her own amorous interests. She DOESN'T feel like she's Maddie's mother and seems at a loss to know how to take care of her in a way that a mother should. When she tells Maddie to wipe that smirk off her face or she'll do it FOR her, THEN she'll know she's truly a mother :-)
