Boogie Chillen December 4, 2001 (Tuesday)
Oh, I MISS Jess McCartney! He was more believable as a snotty
teenage Adam, Jr. The new JR is just too old to pull that off. He
can probably pull off a snotty 17-yr-old, but it seemed like they're still writing or he's interpreting the 14-yr-old. The
fact that they SORAS'd him in the middle of a storyline is still
pretty hard to reconcile. Months ago become years ago and years ago
happened a couple of months ago. Liza implying that JR needed
psychiatric assistance because he was in bed with Frankie is absurd.
Unless he's doing snuff films or forcing himself on women (or men or
girls or boys or animals), some parental guidance in the matter of sex
usually suffices. Which is not to say that he doesn't need counseling
BIG TIME for such things as a) being kidnapped at least 3 times, b)
having his mother get married at least six times, c) having his father
get married at least 8 times, d) having his step-mother murder
someone, e) trying to sort out ultra-convoluted relationships with his
various parents, step-parents, cousins, step-brother once removed,
etc., f) dealing with his mother's constant fainting/near-dying, not
to mention her embarrassingly large breasts that she showcases by
dressing like a tart at work, where she has the hots for a deviant,
sociopathic, psychotically obsessed boss, and g) his drug problems.
Hmmm, now that I think about it, perhaps he should get some SERIOUS
counseling before sticking his dick into ANYTHING.
With all that money Adam hassssss, you'd think he'd invessssst in
ssssssome ssssssspeech therapy to take care of that annoying hisssss that
essssssscapessssss every time he prouncesssssss an esssssssss. He
sssssssoundsssss like a tire on which the ssssssstem is being
presssssssssed. Yessssss, he'ssssss an evil guy, and hisssssssing
emphasssssssizessssss it, but it'sssssss really annoying.
Pat seems a little miffed that Jake appears to be still in love with
Greenlee. Well, shit, it's only been a matter of DAYS since they
"broke up", and Pat was more than willing to jump right back into bed
with Jake. Not that I blame her for being hurt, but Jake's not the
only one who needs a wake-up call here.
Leo spent most of the episode trying to persuade Greenlee to chuck the
job and take off with him for a cozy fireside interlude. He went on
and on about how she doesn't NEED any job, let alone THIS one, etc.
So she turns around and pretty much forces him to take a job with her
and go to this ultra-crucial meeting. In what way would that help her
prevail in the meeting if he doesn't take it seriously?
While Vanessa is pretty damn nasty even on a slow day, her little
visit to Laura certainly steers the Proteus identity in her direction,
doesn't it? I still don't know why she would hone in on Mateo, unless
it's the Arlene/Adam/Hayley connection, but he did make a big deal of
the fact that Proteus loves to force "good" people to come over to the
dark side, and Vanessa DOES delight in such endeavors. And you
thought YOU had a nasty mother-in-law.
Now that both Laura and Leo have abruptly left the building, will the
landlord get to keep the cleaning and security deposit? I shudder to
THINK what Laura might have left in the closets.
