PREVIOUSLY ON ALL MY CHILDREN

Through the bars in his cell, David beseeches Dixie: "I need you! Don't you understand that? I need you!" He slams his fist into the concrete wall and screams in pain. Dixie covers her mouth in horror.

At the hospital, Vanessa wriggles slowly and tells Leo: "I saw you and Greenlee holding hands at David's arraignment. There's really no reason why we can't, you know, complete our original goal after all."

At the Valley Inn, Greenlee asks Roger: "What, you're too embarrassed to introduce me -- Daddy?" Erica whips her head around and asks Roger: "DADDY?"

NOTE: I've been experiencing some problems with my "S" key, so if there are missing S's, that's why.

PV HOSPITAL

Tad walks up to Jake, who tells Tad that their mother wants them to have a family dinner. [How come Tara and Jeff never show up for these family dinners?] Tad doesn't think he has the heart for it right now. They discuss Jake's new place and his living arrangements with Greenlee. Apparently Greenlee is a heavy sleeper and he doesn't see her very much. Tad asks just how much room Jake has at his new place, because Ruth keeps making Tad warm milk and Joe keeps walking around with a concerned look on his face [he ALWAYS looks like that, unless someone in in V-Tac, in which case he looks like he could care less], and he doesn't think he can take much more of it. Jake asks about Dixie and demands to know if Tad is just going to let David Hayward win. Right about this time, the background babble starts. Have you noticed that? This happens a LOT at the hospital now. Suddenly there are so many people talking in the background that I keep stopping playback to listen, thinking that every dog walker within a 3-mile radius has converged on my front lawn to discuss politics and the merits of various pooper-scoopers.

PV JAIL

David holds his arm just above his damaged hand, which is turning purple (pretty nasty looking). Dixie stands fretting outside his cell asking about it. She yells for a guard, saying they need a doctor because she thinks David broke his hand. David says he doesn't want a doctor. He doesn't care. He gasps through is pain that he doesn't care about ANYTHING without her. Dixie breathes hard, aghast that he would think like that.

VALLEY INN DINING ROOM

Erica disbelievingly asks Roger if Greenlee is his DAUGHTER. He turns to her and says he can explain. Greenlee narrows her eyes and says: "Explain WHAT?" Erica says he told her his name was Roger SMITH. He says it IS his name. Greenlee: "Since WHEN? We all say SMYTHE. YOU say SMYTHE. It's your NAME!" Roger turns to Greenlee and grits his teeth as he says: "Greenlee, stay out of this." Greenlee: "'Be quiet, Greenlee.' 'Go away, Greenlee.' 'Stop bothering me, Greenlee.' I'm not 5 anymore, ok? I'm not going to curl up and cry in a corner every time you brush me off!" Roger turns back to Erica, giving her a brilliant smile and says: "I apologize." Greenlee: "Don't apologize to Erica for me! First you pretend that I don't exist, now you're APOLOGIZING because I DO?" Roger suggests to Erica that they go somewhere private to talk. Erica: "I'm not sure that I --" With tears in her eyes, Greenlee says: "What the hell did I do to you to make you HATE me so much? Please, Daddy, tell me!" Erica looks speculatively at each of them.

Greenlee DEMANDS that he tell her why she is invisible to him. She used to think it was because he didn't want to share her mother with her, but she's even more invisible to her mother than she is to him, so WHY IS IT? Does he just not like her? Roger grits his teeth even harder and tells her that he refuses to do this here. He once again tries to get Erica to go with him. Greenlee yells: "Look at me, DAMN it! I'm your DAUGHTER!" He looks around and grunts that she's making a spectacle of herself. Greenlee: "Why do you treat me like your dirty little secret?" Roger, slowly enunciates every word, saying: "And why do you on any given day choose to embarrass yourself and the family?" Erica tries to leave and Roger pulls her back, telling Erica not to let "her" ruin their evening. Greenlee: "Don't -- "HER"?" What about HER? Does she even KNOW what you're after?" Erica: "Look, this is obviously a private -- it's a family matter." Greenlee: "Not anymore!" Roger tells Greenlee he will NOT let her talk to Erica like that. Greenlee: "I don't give a DAMN about Erica. She's just your type, though. You two deserve each other!" Erica whirls and says: "I'm LEAVING!" Greenlee spits out: "Don't bother!" She stomps past Erica, then stops and gives her some advice: "Three words -- watch your purse!" No one in the restaurant seems to notice.

Without missing a beat, Roger smoothly apologizes for the scene and the insults and says he should have told her sooner that Greenlee was his daughter. He doesn't blame Erica for being angry with him. Erica is surprised that he thinks she's angry with him. She understands everything COMPLETELY.

A little while later, Roger and Erica are seated at a table discussing Greenlee. Erica is completely sympathetic to Roger, saying Greenlee would try the patience of ANY parent! Erica: "I mean, look, I've met quite a few people in my life, but I have RARELY met anyone as ARROGANT or as MANIPULATIVE as she is! I mean, to say that she is self-centered is to not even to BEGIN to explore the INABILITY she has to even RESPECT that there are other people in the world!" Roger reluctantly says that she IS his daughter and he is SUPPOSED to defend her. Erica lashes out that Greenlee BLACKMAILED Bianca -- Greenlee almost KILLED Laura English and then blamed it on Bianca! Roger feigns shocked ignorance of the incident. Erica declares Greenlee to be LOATHSOME and apologizes if that offends Roger. Roger says he's afraid it DOESN'T. He's just glad she can understand his predicament and not buy into Greenlee's poor little rich girl routine.

Erica launches into her poor little fatherless routine and says she knows what it's like to grow up without a father and she would NEVER have pushed her father away if he had reached out to her! Erica: "I have just tried to imagine for years, you know, why my father couldn't be a part of my life. And there you are -- you're trying to do just that!" [BARF!] Roger, the hurt, martyred father, says that Greenlee thinks that he chose her mother over her [the very IDEA!] Erica says her father left both her mother and her and it made her vulnerable and even jealous, but not criminal. Roger ruefully says he thinks Greenlee doesn't have that kind of insight. Erica says Greenlee wants more from him than he can give her and no matter what he says or has done to reassure her, she always wants something else. She can't even name it, but she always wants something more. Roger: "Yes. YES, that's it EXACTLY!" Erica: "And then she blames you, she punishes you because you don't know how to please her." Roger: "Is this what your relationship with Bianca is like?" Erica: "With Bianca? No! Oh, no!" She brings up his in-laws and Greenlee's implication that his interest in her might be financial since he is no longer "welcome at their club". Was Greenlee right?

Roger parries and asks if she THINKS he is after her money. She says she's ASKING him. Would she believe him if he said he was not? She flirts that it depends. [I notice that her eye makeup matches her purple dress and scarf] Roger says she has to be careful and now that she knows who he is and what his standing in this town is, he doesn't blame her for doubting him. He DID come here to mend his relationship with his daughter. Roger is humble and self-deprecating as he says: "Obviously I wasn't very successful. Look, my marriage had failed, and I did not want you to know that my wife's family was shunning me or that my ungrateful daughter had it in for me. I'm trying to make a fresh start, and I'm trying to do it on my own merits, not on the bloodline of a family that I married into over 20 years ago." He says he was accused of marrying up since the day he was engaged, but he married Mary because he LOVED her, not because she was a Greenlee. He worked hard all his days to make everyone proud of him, but it was never enough. He was never successful enough or reached their expectations of him. He was never "in their league" and they never let him forget it. Erica tilts her head archly, then softens and says she can CERTAINLY understand THAT. He finds that hard to imagine. She shakes her head and says she grew up in a very middle-class family. Her father abandoned them and her mother had to work at the HOSPITAL to support them. Erica: "I know very well what it's like to work hard to get things that are better than what fate handed you." Roger shakes his head in admiration and awe. Her support of him is so unexpected! She says he doesn't know her very well, then, does he? He somberly says that he does not. She gives him a little half-smile and looks down. [These two have ZERO chemistry]

THE BOATHOUSE

Outside the boathouse kids are laughing and swinging around little green incandescent things in the twilight. Some of them are dancing, even though the music is nearly inaudible. Laura gets up from the table where she's sitting with Bianca, and J.R. walks up. He's wearing a rainbow incandescent ring the size of a Frisbee around his neck. Other kids have similar wrist rings. She asks how he is considering everything that's been going on at home. He's a little jumpy as he says everything is fine. His eyes have dark circles under them. He says that David is in jail, so he's happy and there to party. Bianca reluctantly smiles [she's kind of a downer at parties, isn't she?] Over with the rest of the kids, Laura giggles and playfully slaps someone away. She walks into the relatively empty boathouse proper and is followed by some guy. He says she's in a great mood. She says she's there to party and he offers to make it better. He's got great X, even for people like her who aren't "virgins" anymore. She's game, hands over the money, then pops the pill.

Laura flirts with the pusher while Bianca pries into J.R. personal life. He tells her to knock it off. He suggests getting drinks and assures her they probably have age-appropriate beverages. Mindy bemoans the fact they aren't currently planting a bucketful of Ecstasy on Bianca. Shannon says they have to time it right and not make it too obvious. The others whine and Shannon makes long-suffering faces. She says "this" is going to make the gay thing look like a slow newsday and Bianca's mom is going to have to pick Bianca up from the floor with a MOP when she is done with her. Bianca and J.R. are now standing and laughing in the exact same spot Laura and the pusher were just occupying. Shannon glares at them with a "just you WAIT" look on her face.

ERICA'S HOUSE

Leo is at the door. When Bianca answers, he asks if Erica is home before he comes in. Since she's not, he walks in and completely bypasses his usual chitchat and schmoozing. He asks if she remembers the night Greenlee followed him when he followed Bianca to the gay bar, The Blue Angel. She does. He says she must really have trusted him for her to tell him he secret. She says she knew he wouldn't tell. She still trusts him. He asks if she trusts him enough to keep HIS secret. He's afraid that when he tells her, she'll hate him.

She assures him that she won't HATE him. He asks why she likes him. She says she TRUSTED him. He presses to know WHY she trusted him. She doesn't really understand what he's getting at. He says he doesn't exactly ooze sincerity, so what was it about him that made her trust him? She wonders why he's questioning himself like this since he's one of the greatest people she's ever known. Leo: "No, Bianca, I'm not! You don't know the half of it." Bianca: "I don't CARE." She says nothing he can say would change the way she feels about their friendship. Leo: "What if I told you that everything you feel about me is based on a lie?" She doesn't buy it. She says the same could be said about her, because before he knew she was gay, HER life was based on a lie. Did he feel differently about her once he knew?

Leo gets up and paces, making false starts before he says what he came to say: "When I lived in Europe with my mother, we used to scam people for money. We would lie, we would get what we wanted, we'd run, we'd spend it all, and then we'd look for the next target. We started to get a little messy. Vanessa thought that people were getting too nosy, so she thought a continental shift would reopen the market for us. That's when we came here." Bianca blandly asks if he ever killed anyone. Since he didn't, her position hasn't changed. Still trying to break her faith in him, he tells he that they came to PV with a specific target. Vanessa planned to befriend Erica, which would lead to other connections. That didn't work, though, so Vanessa brought Leo in -- because it was a "man's job", if she knows what he means. Bianca says she's still not following this. He says his mother went after Palmer. Bianca points out that that worked out. Then he says that HE had a specific target. Bianca is confused: "Not Becca?" He says no, Becca was just a tool to get to the REAL prize [I'm sure Becca would be THRILLED to hear THAT]. He was supposed to seduce Greenlee, marry her, clean her out, then run. But it wasn't that easy. Bianca: "Because you fell for her, right?" Leo: "Bianca, that doesn't make it right." Bianca: "I didn't say it made it right." Leo: "Do you hate me yet?" Bianca: "No, and STOP THAT!" Leo: "Stop what?" Bianca: "Deciding for me what I'm feeling. I can do that all by myself. Just let me think for a second, ok?" Leo: "Let me ask you a question. 10 minutes ago, you said I was one of the best people you know. What am I now?" They stare at each other as dramatic music plays.

Leo tells her that he's not going to marry Greenlee and take her money. Bianca says she knows that. He's worried Greenlee will find out, though, because Vanessa is desperate and doesn't care if he or Greenlee get caught. Bianca expresses doubts that Vanessa would go that far, but Leo reminds her that this is his MOTHER they are talking about. Bianca elicits the fact that he DOES love Greenlee and doesn't want to hurt her. She advises telling Greenlee the truth before his mother drops the bomb on her. He's afraid she would HATE him. Bianca: "Another human being might, but Greenlee? She's not exactly a saint herself. And frankly, Leo, she owes you." He says they keep breaking up and making up every 5 minutes because they aren't "real" with each other. FINALLY they are starting to get that way and now he's supposed to tell her the reason they got together in the first place? She'd never get over it! Bianca: "Do you trust her?" Leo: "No, not exactly." Bianca grins and says: "Then you're perfect for each other." He asks if she thinks this is simple for him, then asks himself why he's asking HER -- she's only 17, what does SHE know? Bianca: "Not much, but you asked ME. And if you really care about Greenlee, none of this other stuff should matter, not to you and not to Greenlee." She tells him to have a little faith, like he would always tell HER.

Laura bursts into the room without knocking, ironically yelling: "I got in!" Apparently the jerk from the Admissions office was right [huh?], and she got into PVU. Laura wants Bianca to come to a letter-burning party at the boathouse. A bunch of them are going to bring their acception/ rejection letters and burn the noes and celebrate the goes. BTW is she interrupting anything? Leo says no. She invites him, but he says he has to go talk to Greenlee. Bianca wishes him a good talk. He kisses Laura on the cheek, congratulates her, then leaves.

Bianca waits until the door shuts, then apologizes for Leo. Laura tells her to forget it, she just wanted to see Bianca and ask her to the party. Laura asks if Leo's ok and Bianca says yes, he just wanted to talk. Laura is totally psyched about going to PVU and the party. Bianca grabs her coat and they rush out to party hearty.

PV HOSPITAL

Tad asks if Jake thinks he's letting Hayward win. Jake says that's what it sounds like if Tad's thinking of moving out of their parent's place into his place. Jake is assuming Tad is thinking of divorcing Dixie. Tad says that is NOT the case, even after what happened in the courtroom. He doesn't know WHAT he's going to do yet -- it's way too soon, and he would NEVER think of cutting off Dixie that easily. He tells Jake he SAW Dixie afterward and they talked, and no, it did NOT go well. Jake asks if Dixie told him she's in love with Hayward. Tad says she didn't have to. Whatever you want to call it, though, she wasn't just fooling around. Whatever happens, even if they get back together, he now has to deal with the fact that she has "feelings" for Hayward, even now that she knows the truth about him. And he can't expect to just turn his OWN feelings off like a light switch. Tad: "I mean, you know how I am." Jake: "I'm not so sure I know HOW you are!" Tad wryly says: "I'm a jerk." Jake: "Because you want your wife to commit to you, Tad, does not make you a jerk!" [And Jake should know all about what it takes to be a jerk] Speaking of jerks, a guard rushes in with a gasping David [like mother like son]. Dixie rushes in behind them and indignantly tells Jake that David broke his hand and they HANDCUFFED him! [Yay! My own hand hurts right now, but that's because I played too much FreeCell] Jake tells the nurse to take him to Exam Room 1. The guard and Dixie march after them, but Jake physically stops Dixie and tells her to wait out there as she frantically protests that she wants to go with him. She turns and looks around for support from whomever might be watching, then sees Tad grimly watching her.

Dixie looks around guiltily and says: "I didn't know you were here." [Would she not have come if she DID know? She knew Jake would find out and tell him anyway] Tad: "You were at the jail with David?" Dixie: "I went to visit him, yes." Tad: "And he broke his hand?" Dixie looks everywhere but at Tad, shifting from one foot to the other, looking for all the world like a little kid trying to talk his way out of something, but not succeeding very well. Dixie: "I went to see him, Tad, to tell him that he was on his own, to tell him that any decisions that he was going to make about his future or about his court case that he would have to make without me, that I was completely aware that he was grandstanding and that I wasn't going to put up with it." Tad's mouth is a grim line as he says: "How did he take it?" Dixie's eyelids flutter wildly as she says: "What do you mean, how did he take it?" Tad: "What do you mean, what do I mean? How did he take it when you broke it off with him?" Dixie hems and haws and closes her eyes, then says: "Not great." Tad: "Hmm. Ok. So let me get this straight. Ok, you go see the 'gifted surgeon' in his jail cell to tell him he's on his own, and the 'world- renowned cardiologist' who literally holds people's beating hearts in the palm of his mitt BREAKS HIS HAND?" Dixie: "What's your point, Tad." Tad: "My point is that is the world's WORST piece of grandstanding I've ever HEARD of!" Dixie sighs and looks sheepishly at the ground. Tad: "I mean, if that's not amateur, theatrical, total desperation, 'I THROW MYSELF ON THE ALTAR OF **YOU**', I don't know what IS! And you know what? I have no idea how to top that. What's more, I don't even want to try!" Dixie takes a deep, bolstering breath.

Dixie incredulously asks if he think she WANTS him to compete with David. Does he think she thinks this is some kind of GAME? Tad says no, he doesn't think he OR her thinks it's a game, but every time David makes a move it's like some kind of chess championship. Tad: "Now, I got to admit, slamming his hand into a cinder block wall may not be too elegant, but it certainly is effective because HERE YOU ARE. And you're in a cold sweat because obviously you -- you're in love with him!" Dixie's mouth gapes in feigned shock and she keeps her eyes closed [but you can tell they are darting frantically behind the lids] as she tells him not to say that. Tad: "You told me he made you feel like you mattered, right?" Dixie: "I was saying that to try to explain --" Tad: "Why don't you explain it to me? Why don't you explain why you would go to a man like THAT to get whatever it is you feel that I'm not giving you. I mean, why HIM?" Dixie flails around for an answer and comes up with a lame response: "Why would you go to Liza to get whatever it is that I'm not giving YOU?" Tad fidgets, puffs his cheeks and looks like he's trying to resist putting HIS hand through the brick wall that is Dixie's head, then says: "I don't know how many times we can put each other through this." Dixie can't seem to bring herself to keep her eyes on Tad, either closing them or looking anywhere else but at him as she says: "I don't know, Tad. I'm sorry I don't see very clearly right now. I just went to David to tell him how I was feeling, and he hurt himself. And so I came here to make sure that he was all right. And beyond that, I haven't given it a whole lot of thought. I'm sorry, I can't see very straight right now." nods, grits his teeth and says: "Well, I can. I can see just fine!" He stalks out and leaves Dixie looking dismayed and unsure of what to do next. She glances toward Exam Room 1 in indecision, then follows Tad.

Amy, the pretty nurse whom David screwed in lieu of Dixie, wheels Leslie into the hall, asking nurse Carolyn if they are still backed up in radiology." Carolyn: "Yeah. You got a minute?" Amy leaves Leslie in the middle of the waiting area and comes around the nurses' desk. Carolyn: "Guess who was brought in with a broken hand?" Amy: "I heard. And he was CUFFED!" Carolyn: "Dixie Martin came with him." Amy: "She's a glutton for punishment!" Leslie's interest perks up and the wheels [still missing a few spokes] turn. Amy: "I hope it hurts!" Carolyn: "He was white as a sheet." Amy: "Serves him right! When I think about what he did to ME and now Dr. Martin's daughter-in-law and her -- is he in an exam room?" Carolyn: "Yes, Exam 1." Amy: "I hope they make his cast too tight and then send him off for GOOD!" Leslie gets a murderous look on her face as creepy music plays.

Dixie catches up with Tad and apologizes for not saying what he wanted to hear. He says if she could tell him that, he'd know she'd be lying. She says she has feelings for David, but she doesn't WANT to and she's working on it. Tad: "And it matters that I know this?" Dixie stutters, then says she HOPES so -- she's just hoping he'll give her a little bit of time. Tad looks around and huffs, throwing up his hands. He doesn't know what to say to that. Dixie's face falls, but she quickly changes the subject, asking how Jamie is. Tad: "He's like the rest of us. He's trying to tough his way through this. He keeps asking for you." She looks incredibly guilty, compressing her lips and looking down. She asks about what it's like staying at Ruth and Joe's. Tad says it stinks because they are worried about him. That's why he's there -- he was asking Jake if he could stay with him, although it would be a little "Three's Company" with Greenlee there. He would like to see J.R. if that's okay with Dixie. She bobs to the tune of "Of course!" three times [and I wonder if she paws the ground with her foot at the same time]. She admits J.R. doesn't talk to her much, though. He asks her to take a seat and says he wants her to know something. Tad: "I just want you to know something. Now I know what I did to you, how it must have felt -- with Liza, after I --" Dixie: "Listen, listen -- I told you before that this isn't PAYBACK!" Tad: "You know what it is, though?" Dixie: "What?" Tad: "It's worse. This -- this is awful! I mean, this is worse than us sitting here talking like two complete strangers. I mean, we're discussing, you know, people we love and things that we've shared in our lives, and absolutely NONE of it is in context anymore!" Dixie: "Well, maybe not now, but --" Tad: "In time? In time." Dixie: "What do you mean?" Tad: "I don't know if I can live that way. I don't know if I want to." Dixie: "Well, neither do I." Tad: "Ok, so why are we agreeing just to put off the inevitable?" Dixie: "The inevitable?" Tad: "Yeah, the inevitable. Why don't we just stop fooling ourselves and start thinking about ending this?" Dixie flutters and has the gall to look surprised as she says: "My God, Tad!" Tad: "I think maybe we should -- maybe we should start talking about the divorce."

VALLEY INN

Leo and Greenlee walk over to a table at the Valley Inn and sit down. Greenlee is sniffling. She assures him that she's fine. He points out that she was curled up in a ball on a chair in the lobby -- she's NOT "fine". She says it's no biggie, just the same old garbage. He guesses she ran into her father and she tells him she doesn't want to talk about it. Why did he want to meet her there? He had said it was important. He says it IS, kind of. Greenlee starts plotzing saying she KNEW this was going to happen, she just KNEW it! He changed his mind, didn't he? Leo: "About what?" Greenlee: "You don't want to be with me! You don't want to get back together! You wanted to let me down easy! You saw me crying, and now you don't know how to say it!" He tries to get a word in edgewise, but she refuses to let him say anything until he does her one last favor. Greenlee: "If you're going to break up with me, can you just pretend not to do it until tomorrow morning? Because you know what? I don't think I can handle it if you leave me tonight. I really, REALLY don't!" Leo looks at her lovingly, but hesitantly, and starts to take her hand. She gulps on her tears and stares.

ERICA'S HOUSE

Erica unlocks the usually unlocked door and invites Roger in for a drink. He says he's not certain that he should. He doesn't know where he stands. He says he asked her earlier if she trusted him and he never really got a response. She says she doesn't know him well enough to answer that yet. Roger: "Well, considering what Greenlee said --" Erica: "You think that I would believe GREENLEE over YOU?" He wants a chance to show her who he is. She says he's complicated. He asks if that's good and she says "We'll see." She tells him to call her and he agrees. He leaves and she watches his ass [I'm NOT kidding] [These two are SO BORING!]

VALLEY INN

Leo assures Greenlee he's not breaking up with her. She tells him not to mess with her head. Leo: "I'm not messing with your head. I'm more interested in your heart, Miss Jumping-to-Conclusions." She fills him in on her father pretending not to know her and brushing her off like she was some cocktail waitress who screwed up his drink order. She tells him that she made sure Erica knew who she was. Leo reaches across the table for her and says: "GOOD FOR YOU!" Greenlee: "I really am nothing to him -- nothing but my trust fund." Leo looks ashamed and swallows. Greenlee continues: "And now that he's cut off from that -- I'm sorry I was so sure you were here to break up with me. I don't know what I would do without you." He tells her it's ok. She decides he's right and brightens, asking him to tell her what he wanted to talk to her about. He buys a little time and says it's sort of big and she says she can handle it. He stands up, leans over and kisses her passionately. He breaks away and tells her he loves her. Greenlee looks very happy and open.

THE BOATHOUSE

It's still dusk (a never-changing dusk, apparently). Laura sits on the railing and asks Bianca if she knows how incredible and beautiful she is. Bianca laughs and asks what's gotten into her [do you want that info in grams or ounces?] Laura effusively says she just means so much to her and she's never told her! Bianca: "Well, you certainly haven't told me THIS way." Laura says that's terrible and she should fix that. Laura gets up and hugs Bianca REALLY, REALLY hard: "Well, see, that's terrible! I should fix that. I just -- I love you SO MUCH, Bianca. I just really love you." She rocks Bianca back and forth while Bianca smiles uncomfortably.

PV HOSPITAL

Dixie is absolutely stunned: "Divorce? Are you sure?" Tad: "Yes." Dixie: "You have to know that I never wanted -- really -- I do love you!" Tad jumps up and says: "I can't do this right now, ok?" The look on his face is heartbreaking. Dixie: "Tad, please." Tad: "I'll call you. No. Please. Please." He walks out and she stands there in tears, devastated at what she has wrought.

In Exam Room 1, Dr. Lambert tells Jake that the meds should take care of the pain, but she thinks they'll have to operate. Jake: "Your x-rays show a boxer's fracture in the right hand. Dr. Lambert believes that surgery is the right course. I suppose that isn't such bad news. Microsurgery beats prison, doesn't it? I'll call the O.R. And get you set up." [Doesn't David have to sign a consent form? Oh wait, his hand doesn't work. Heh, heh, heh] He, Dr. Lambert and the nurse all leave. The guard is nowhere in sight. David sighs and turns his head to the side. Security being what it is, Leslie just walks in and fills a syringe. She plunges the contents into his IV and a groggy David finally notices her. He asks what she's doing. Leslie: "I made it!" His eyes follow the IV line to his arm and he says: "Wait a minute!" Leslie leaps over to hold both his arms down and says: "No thanks to YOU, I might add!" He grunts in pain. David: "Why are you here?" Leslie: "Look into my eyes, Dr. Hayward. Look closely." David can't quite focus his eyes as he says: "What? What do you want?" Leslie: "Not much. Just this -- to see you a dead man!" David: "Leslie --" Leslie viciously says: "Don't fight it, David. This is your lucky day because your lovely parting gift from this world is going to be my face in your head just before you kick!" David: "Wait, please!" Leslie gives her patented "nyah, nyah" head tilt and says: "Oh, it's too late!" She makes a satisfied sneer as his eyes roll around.

At the boathouse, Laura loudly whispers to Bianca: "Why don't you try it. I'll be with you the whole time. Nobody even has to know."

At Adam's house, Dixie challenges Liza: "You're going to try and take my son away from me so you can get back at me!"

Greenlee stands before Leo in shiny lavender undies and asks: "Like it?" Leo looks her up and down: "What's not to like?"

Leslie grabs a pillow and covers David's face with it, sticking her tongue out in determination. Tad walks in and says: "Leslie?"
