Boogie Chillen September 7, 2000 (Thursday)
Stuart and Marian cannot contain their passion at the joyful reunion --
they make love in the attic! I can only imagine the kind of thumping
sounds Adam would have heard THEN if they had stayed ;-) (not to
mention toe-singing) That old quilt must have been pretty
moldy/mothball stinky, though!
Why did Tad and Liza have to fly to New York to meet with the Alliance
Elevator people who have to fly in from Chicago? Pine Valley has
direct flights to and from its airport to virtually every wide spot in
the road in the known (and probably unknown) world! The Chicago
airport is fogged in, so they are stuck in Chicago. It would have been
a nice touch (but maybe a little TOO obvious) if they had been stuck in
an elevator :-)
Am I the only one who thinks that top Erica is wearing is simply NOT
her style? Unless the sparkly things are DIAMONDS, I just can't
picture her ever choosing to wear it. It looks like something from
K-Mart. Maybe it's the short, too-tight sleeves.
Dixie certainly is dolled up for a meeting with David and an impromptu
plane trip to New York! TOTALLY inappropriate! I know it was so she
could surprise Tad, but PULEASE!
Although it was pretty sad to see a grown woman go to such pathetic
lengths to make someone jealous, it was still hysterically funny to see
Tad walk in on Liza doing her When Harry Met Sally routine with the
headboard! I think I'll save that on my AMC Memorable Moments tape (so
far all I have on it is all the beach scenes from the 4th of July
picnic (aka the SpeedoMan episode :-) and one other small scene).
WHOA! Adam actually started to STRANGLE Arlene! THAT was unexpected!
I do NOT like THIS twist! We know Adam is tortured. We know that
Arlene is a total skank and can't understand why her skanky ways aren't
working with him and she has pushed him to his limits. HOWEVER -- that
does not in any way justify what he did, and it's WAAAAY over the line!
For all the despicable things Adam has done to women, being violent
with them has never been an option (unless I'm forgetting something),
and I'm really pissed that AMC crossed that line with such a
despicable, yet well-liked and complex character.
